Local government staff and government agencies, in most cases, are the primary interface with the public for questions about materials and package types that are accepted in local recycling programs. Help Harmonize Recyclability Language
Variation of recycling programs, as well as inconsistency of recycling communication at all levels, is a major cause of consumer confusion. It is therefore extremely important for each municipal program to provide clear instructions for its residents. The labels provided by the How2Recycle Label can collectively increase the level of consumer knowledge about recycling. If local programs reference the label alongside the items they accept, the How2Recycle Label can be a unifying, recognizable piece of information across all programs.
To the extent possible, we would like to gather data about the impact of the recycling label. We need municipal representatives to support us by providing feedback. Please help us obtain data by doing one or both of the following:
